EPON system is a point-to-multipoint optical fiber access technology. It consists of an OLT at the computer room end, a passive device optical splitter, and an ONU at the access end. One PON port supports 64 ONU access. One PON port can satisfy the smooth transmission of about 100pcs 200W cameras or 50pcs 400W cameras.

 

Optical fiber switch is a high-speed network transmission relay equipment, which uses optical fiber cable as the transmission medium compared with ordinary switches. The optical fiber switch is the same as the ordinary electrical interface switch except that the port is an optical fiber interface. 


Optical fiber transceiver is a point-to-point optical fiber access technology. It is an Ethernet transmission media conversion unit that exchanges short-distance twisted-pair electrical signals and long-distance optical signals. The devices are generally used in pairs and can be divided into for the transmitter and receiver. 

 

Take the access of 256 scattered monitoring points as an example to illustrate the networking of the EPON system.
