Overview
Ficom FC1000 Gigabit Ethernet Fiber Converter uses the physical layer technology to implement media conversion, which complies with the IEEE802.3z and IEEE802.3ab standards. This type of converter supports two types of media network connections: 1000Base-T and 1000Base-SX/LX. Ficom FC1000 Gigabit Ethernet fiber converter can conduct mutual conversion between 1000Base-T twisted pair electrical signal and 1000Base-SX/LX optical signal. This kind of converter extends the transmission distance of a network from 100m over copper wires to 120Km. 

The 1000M Ethernet fiber converter does not need rate conversion, so it does not need to use switching technology. It directly converts the received data to another port, so the packet transmitting rate is higher than that of a switching-type fiber converter. This is the advantage of physical layer fiber converter. FC1000 supports transmission in dual-fiber multi-mode, dual-fiber single-mode and single-fiber single-mode fibers.

  • Supporting Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) to form a redundant network;
  • Supporting multiple types of fiber ports such as dual-fiber multi-mode、dual-fiber single-mode and single-fiber single-mode, to satisfy the extended requirements of users.
